Pin cushion and an art gallery

Yesterday I felt in the mood for sewing, so I got everything ready i.e. fabric, ribbon, buttons etc etc, then I realised the foot pedal and plug for my sewing machine were nowhere to be seen :(  I spent half an hour turning the flat upside down with no luck.  When my husband got in he found it within 4 minutes - in my ironing basket!!  I have no idea how it got there :)  Anyhoo I did a little pin cushion that evening using scraps from an old pair of trousers.  The striped fabric was the lining of a jean pocket :)

Today we went down to the Pier, walked a while and then popped into a favourite hotel for some lunch and a drink.  We then wandered round to our local art gallery 'The Turner', which was full of lovely surprises!

Have a happy Easter  πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™

Strange name, beautiful place.

This week we went to a little village called Rottingdean (5 minutes from Brighton), but miles apart in other ways.  Scattered with a few quaint shops, nice pubs and the stunning Kiplings Gardens (of Rudyard fame), the perfect place to sit and unwind :)

It also has some fabulous properties that make your jaw drop πŸ’™

Spring has sprung (at last)

Yesterday was a much warmer day here on the south east coast so myself and hubster decided to take the bus to the local park and have a leisurely stroll, here are some images, next time we will take a picnic!

A walk on the wild side

Today myself and hubster decided to take a stroll along Eastbourne seafront, and it was a surprisingly sunny (if windy) day.  The flower beds are about to bloom into carpets of colour, the bandstand is ready for it's next performance and the pier was looking majestic.

After a long walk we headed over to Harry Ramsdens for some welcome fish and chips :)
All in all a lovely way to spend a Thursday πŸ’•

Eastern European Rag Doll - just for Valentines Day

I have been fascinated by these lovely little rag dolls lately.  They crop up all over Pinterest so I thought I would try to make one.  Some people keep them as a lucky talisman.  No sewing involved, just folding and tying together of materials to make the doll and clothes.  I think she look more Japanese.  I had to put one stitch in the middle of the heart (as I didn't have my glue gun handy!).

Happy Valentines Day everyone!
